Judges
"Objection your honor! He's badgering the witness!"
No, you will not be saying any of that to any of the judges(yours truly just happens to be one of them), and no – we most certainly will not be wearing black robs! Black just isn't my color.
Judges(who are also the mods) are here to make this whole "game" more interesting for everyone. How will we be doing that? By creating immediate, on the spot – plot twists. Judges will be able to step in – into any story, at any point, and change what's happening. You want an example? I'll give you one:
Let's say that two heroes are out on a mission, in a remote temple, searching for a hidden potion that could help them save a friend. They're walking and talking – like most RP'ers do while on missions. A judge can, if he wishes, post the next thing(or something like it):
As our heroes quietly walk through the small paths of the hidden temple, shrouded in darkness, they are unaware of the hidden traps built into the walls and the floor of the ancient temple.
They couldn't expect what happened, when one of them stepped on the trap tile in the floor. The floor underneath his feet disappears, as if by an act of magic, and Hero-X never had a chance to react in time. He falls through the newly formed hole in the floor that suddenly disappears as mysteriously as it appeared.
Hero-Y stares at the ground in shock, unable to understand what happened. Meanwhile, Hero X crashes into the ground, many stories below where he stood a moment ago – as shocked as his friend which is so far away from him. What will the super-duo do now?
But that's not all a judge can do! Let's say we have two heroes with the same power at the same power level, and they suddenly choose to fight each other. Who will win? They can both launch equal attacks at each other. That's where a judge steps in and decides who gets to win! The role of a judge will become clearer as you begin RP'ing and see it in action.
Please note, that as judges we must make decision from a neutral point of view. Therefore, a judge will never determine the victory in his own battle – or implement a plot twist on his own mission(another judge will do it for him).
Judges will also RP the roles of most NPC's you will encounter as you RP(you can ask a judge to NPC a specific character, if you want to ). In your own privet stories, you may choose to RP as NPC's and in any of your training sessions you will RP as the NPC's as well.
